Dear
Friends,
Congratulations
to Mike Quinn and Bill Thornton
on being ordained deacons last
Saturday for the Archdiocese.
Mike was with us from 2006-2007
and Bill was with us the summer
of 2005.
Our
annual Staff/Volunteer Christmas
Party will be held Friday,
December 19th, at 6:00 p.m. in
the Parish Hall. If you have
volunteered your time here at
Mater Dolorosa during this past
year, please R.S.V.P. to Fran in
the Rectory Office at
650-583-4131 to make your
reservation for dinner. Im
looking forward to a great
evening together.
The
question of who is a parishioner
has come up a number of times and
I will try to answer it as simply
as I can. A parishioner is a
person who is registered in the
parish, attends Sunday Mass and
supports that parish on a regular
basis, preferably using the
envelopes. Just because someone
lives within the boundaries of
the parish does not make them a
parishioner. Also, just because
someone sent a child to the
school many years ago, does not
make them a parishioner. I
repeat again: A parishioner is a
person who is registered in the
parish, attends Sunday Mass, and
supports that parish on a regular
basis. I hope this clears up any
confusion.
I
had a great pilgrimage to Egypt,
Jordan, and Israel. Its
great to see the Church alive and
well in the place where it began.
.But as good as the pilgrimage
was, Im glad to be back
home at Mater Dolorosa.

Have
a great
week!
