EUCHARISTIC
ADORATION AT MATER DOLOROSA - January, 2,
2009
Please
sign up for Eucharistic Adoration the
first Friday of each month. It is a
wonderful experience to spend some
peaceful time in the Holy Presence of
Jesus. Please consider spending some time
in prayerful reflection with Our Lord.
You will find the sign up sheets in the
vestibule of the Church.
What a
blessed way to start the new
year!
|
|
The
first reading today
recalls Gods
special blessing upon
the Israelites. The
Lord has been gracious
to us as well, pouring
into our hearts that
spirit which knows Him
as Father and makes us
His children. May we,
like Mary, treasure
these things in our
hearts and live
gratefully!

The following letter was
addressed to Fr. Brian Costello
and was received on December 16,
2008 with a check
enclosed:
|
Dear
Father
Costello:
The
Board of Directors of
the Carl Gellert and
Celia Berta Gellert
Foundation, at a meeting
held on November 11,
2008, authorized that
the enclosed sum of
$11,980.00 to be donated
to Mater Dolorosa
Catholic Church. The
Directors have requested
that these funds be used
towards a new parish
sign.
Our
Board is pleased that
Mater Dolorosa Catholic
Church was selected to
receive this donation
for the year 2008. We
would like to commend
Mater Dolorosa Catholic
Church on its efforts in
contributing invaluably
toward sustaining the
highest standards of our
society.
We
also want to inform you
that the current
economic environment has
impacted the funds from
which we make our gifts.
How the economy
recovers over the next
twelve months may have
an impact on how much
will be available for
grants in
2009.
Sincerely,
THE
CARL GELLERT AND
CELIA
BERTA GELLERT
FOUNDATION

Dear
Friends,
The
Gellert Foundation has
been very, very generous
to us during these past
two years. Last year,
they gave us $15,000 for
the new hall floor.
This year we got almost
$12,000 for a new parish
sign which will replace
the old one on the
corner of Miller and
Willow. Thank you,
Gellert Foundation! We
should have our new
parish sign up by the
spring. What a good way
to end one year and
begin another. God is
good!

Happy
New Year!
