THEME
OF OUR LITURGY
-
|
|
The
obedience of Jesus is rewarded in
the salvation of all people for
all time.
|
First
Reading: Genesis 22:1-2, 9a, 10-13,
15-18
The sacrifice of Abraham, our father in
faith.
Second
Reading: Romans 8:31b-34
If God is for us, who can be against
us?
Gospel:
Mark 9:2-10
Jesus was transfigured before them, and
his clothes became dazzling white.
|
|
Abraham
was prepared to
sacrifice his only son,
Isaac. St. Paul reminds
us that God Himself
did not spare His
own Son. Are my
gifts to the Lord; of my
resources, of my time,
of myselfalso
sacrificial?

Romans
8:32)

YOU
ARE ALL INVITED!
Prayer in Chaos,
Commotion, and Clutter by Kathy
Coffey
Thursday, March 26th 6:30 p.m. to 8:30
p.m.
Mater Dolorosa Parish
Hall
Are you
too busy to pray? Yet, do you feel a
nagging need for it? Many people share
the dilemmalonging for a spiritual
center that gives meaning and depth to
even the craziest days. We know we have a
great need for prayer, yet we also face
tremendous constraints on our time.
Lets take time now, in a session
that will explore how prayer can occur in
ordinary ways and commonplace locations,
in settings when were stressed as
well as in tranquil
retreats.
- How
can springboards to prayer occur in
packed schedules?
- How
can we then help others to find the
seeds of the sacred in the ordinary
experience?
- Well
look at ways to move beyond our
stereotypes of prayer, see our work as
prayer
- Adapt
traditional prayers to contemporary
settings
- Drawing
children into a life of
prayer
